The Palace Coup Completed

My name is Daniel. I was an English teacher in Seoul, South Korea, and am now a writer who has
published three books including South Korea: Our Story by Daniel Nardini.
It comes as no surprise that the Democratic Party’s candidate Moon Jae-in would
win the presidency. After all, the political left had been planning this palace coup against former President
Park Geun-hye since December. Since they control the National Assembly they had the votes, and since
they have most of the news media on their side they were able to put pressure on the Constitutional Court
to rule in favor of impeachment. The political left knew that if they could get Park out of the way as soon as
possible then they stood an excellent chance of getting their candidate elected. This has occurred. There
is no question that Moon Jae-in will inaugurate socialistic policies like his predecessor Roh Myoo-hyun did
and take Korea onto a dark path. This does not mean that he should get his way. Korean conservatives can
and should fight back. There are ways to stop Moon Jae-in. One is to elect candidates that will vote against
him on a local and national level. Second is to network and build-up a new and more formidable
conservative movement. Finally, build up and use news media outlets favorable to conservatives to expose
the truth of what Moon Jae-in will do. The more that can be done to stop Moon Jae-in, the better are the
chances that the conservatives and all Koreans who love freedom and democracy can take their country
back.
